Pastors appreciation

Anna Sweere shared her appreciation of her pastors as a surprise during a church service. She said:

I would like to ask the members of the church to join me in lifting up, encouraging, and celebrating our four amazing pastors here at ALC. I have been at ALC my entire life and have the privilege to work alongside all of them as I begin my career in ministry. So, to honor our pastors, I would like to share a little about the impact they have each had in my life.

I first want to thank pastor Kevin for his continuous dedication to Abundant Life. I think all of us can agree that without Pastor Kevin, we would not know the Lord as well as we do. He has modeled so well to me how to follow Jesus and how to make him Lord of my life. And He has dedicated his life to helping all of us grow in our relationship with the Lord. So thank you Pastor Kevin for teaching me and all of us here about Jesus.

Pastor Ted has a passion for the people of this church and reaching the unreached. There is nothing that Pastor Ted wouldn’t do for the people in this room to show them the Jesus that he knows. I promise you that he is thinking and praying for each and every one of you even when he is not in the building. Thank you Pastor Ted for sharing your heart with us and loving like Jesus does.

We also have Pastor Tasha who won’t hear this because she is out in our youth room teaching them about Jesus. She has so selflessly sacrificed being in the service every single week to lead our youth group. As someone that works with our youth as well, let me just say, our youth is finding Jesus and I can’t imagine anything more important. So thank you Pastor Tasha.

Lastly, Pastor Angie, or Pastor “mom” to me. I want to provide you with a daughter’s perspective of my mom because I have the privilege of seeing the behind the scenes. Growing up, I watched my mom go above and beyond for those around her. I’ve seen the tears that she’s cried for the people of the church. I’ve seen the joy she gets from being apart of others faith journey. I’ve seen the countless hours of selflessness she has dedicated to this church. Mom, you are an inspiration to me and so many others, I pray that I will follow in your footsteps, thank you.

So to end, I want to say thank you pastors for your selflessness and commitment to first seek after Christ, but to also lead all of us to Him. Thank you Jesus for giving us our pastors.
